Seacoast Area Bicycle Routes (SABR)
We seek to make cycling a part of your family's everyday life.
We exist to promote safe and effective bicycle transportation in the Greater Seacoast region of New Hampshire and southern Maine.
Our mission is to enhance the transportation system of the Seacoast-Great Bay region of New Hampshire and southern Maine through the development of an effective and safe network of bicycle routes connecting the towns in the region. Our success relies fundamentally on collaborating with municipalities, regional planners, New Hampshire and Maine Departments of Transportation, local/regional businesses, other bicycle oriented groups and non-profit organizations, individuals, and anybody else who is interested to plan, propose, and help fund the construction of safe and viable bicycle routes. In addition to working on "bricks and mortar" projects we also work to raise awareness of bicycles as a viable transportation alternative and increase the number of bicycle riders in the region via a number of outreach programs including a bicycle safety education program, guided bicycle rides, publication of maps, and an annual bicycle Expo. What are the benefits of a regional bicycle transportation network?
Bottom Line: An effective bicycle transportation network is a key component of an integrated multi-modal transportation system that also includes pedestrians, trains, buses, planes, automobiles, and car-pooling. |
