Her Bikes: Specialized Tarmac for road and indoor trainer riding; and Specialized Crux for winter and gravel riding.
Favorite Bike Route: Roads right out my driveway through Newmarket, Lee, Durham, Barrington, Dover, Exeter. I also enjoy my bike commute from Newmarket to Pease (30 miles round trip) - Rte 33 is not the greatest but it's relatively safe, I'm not on it forever, and it's the straightest route to work.
Most Prized Bike Accessory: A tie between my vacuum fit Shimano road shoes, which have gotten me through many races; and my Lake winter riding boots, which have allowed me to train through many cold New England winters.
Helpful hint for other women bicyclists: Getting into the sport of cycling can seem intimidating. Remember every woman you meet who rides either recreationally or competitively had to start somewhere. I'd be happy to chat and help you if racing is something you're interested in pursuing.
Why She Rides: To clear my head and keep somewhat sane, to stay in good health and fitness, and it is one of my favorite ways to spend time with my hubby and friends.
