Bike Rodeo Volunteer
SABR and the Portsmouth Recreation Department are organizing a kids' bike rodeo on Sunday, May 31st. on the grounds of Dondero School.
We are looking for volunteers for the following activities:
-
Helmet Fit check station
-
ABC Bike Safety station (for the amateur bike mechanics volunteers)
-
Bike decorating
-
Bike course officers
-
Neighborhood bike ride support

Social Media Coordinator
Help the Communications Committee maintain a strong social media presence for SABR and its activities.
Work closely with other volunteers to post SABR and SPIF events, calls for action, and other content on our Facebook and Instagram accounts; assist other Communications Committee volunteers with maintaining our website and creating/editing monthly email newsletters. Event / Group Ride Assistant
Help us run community events throughout the year, including monthly group rides, e-bike expos, bike rodeos at local schools, bike parking events. For example, you can join a planning committee or help at event with activities such as selling raffle tickets, assisting at the information booth, and setting up tents. Bike Advocate
If you’re active in your community, you can join our advocacy committee (monthly meetings). You can reach out to your local government and City officials who oversee planning and transportation to advocate for more and improved cycling infrastructure in the Seacoast. SPIF Volunteers
Become a SABR And SPIF Volunteer ! Opportunities posted March 7, 2026

Seacoast Pedal It Forward is looking for volunteers! Read below for areas of specific need. If you're interested in one or more of these areas, please contact us at spif@seacoastbikes.org
Outreach Coordinator
This person contacts our outreach partners to coordinate distribution of bicycles to their clients. Focus areas include:

Serve as liaison with existing partners to determine need and coordinate bike pick up and drop off via calls and emails
-
Find new partners and coordinate need and bike pick up/drop off
-
Communicate with SPIF Team leads and head mechanics to prepare bikes for distribution

Fundraising Coordinator
This person works with our fundraising volunteers and SABR Board to document applications for grants:
-
Identify organizations and grant opportunities
-
Support fundraising volunteers with tone, language and data needed to apply for grants
-
Serve as a liaison with SABR Board for draft content, review and submission of grant applications
-
Communicate successful application status and amount to SABR Treasurer
-
Manage grant spreadsheet and application deadlines
Team Lead
This person supports SPIF’s daily operations, including working with Bike Mechanics on bike repair status and with Outreach Coordinator on bike distributions. Activities include:

Onboard new volunteers to SPIF processes and activities
-
Help existing volunteers with bike repair activities
-
Work with other Team Leads to track and maintain master bike inventory spreadsheet
-
Support coordination of bike mechanics and bike repair volunteers to ensure bikes are good-to-go for outreach partners
-
Check bike parts inventory and order when needed
Bike Mechanics
Our mechanics evaluate donated bikes and determine if their best use is to be repaired or used for parts. A mechanic typically:
-
Has extensive bike repair and bike mechanic experience
-
Identifies repairs needed, and can perform complex repairs
-
Teaches and supports bike repair volunteers to recognize safety issues and make basic repairs
-
Communicates bike repair status with Team Lead
-
Completes safety check before any bike leaves SPIF
Bike Repair Volunteers
Our bike repair volunteers typically perform wear and tear type repairs. No experience is needed, just an interest in learning how to do tasks such as:
-
Replacing chains, cassettes, brake pads, and cables
-
Is willing to learn and work with bike mechanics
-
Participate during SPIF hours when mechanics and leads are available
