Bicycle Signs at Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover
For more than 12 years, bicycles have been allowed in Dover’s city cemeteries—but outdated signs at Pine Hill Cemetery still say otherwise.
A group of Dover residents, including our friends at Strong Towns Seacoast, have been working with the City of Dover to get these signs updated. The current Dover ordinance governing cemeteries, Dover Code § 65-2(A), does not prohibit bicycles, yet the old signs continue to discourage people from accessing the cemetery by bike.
Our next step? We need Dover residents, workers, and taxpayers to speak up!
Please join us at the next meeting of the Dover Cemetery Board and encourage the Board to recommend replacing the outdated signs.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Blue Ribbon Committee, Portsmouth
In Portsmouth, the newly formed Bicycle and Pedestrian Blue Ribbon Committee is meeting monthly to carry forward the momentum of the 2024 Bicycle and Pedestrian Network Plan.
It is a diverse group from across the city including several SABR members and city staff, chaired by Councilor Annie Hopkins. Recent topics of discussion include priorities for the city’s Capital Improvement Plan and the adoption of a Safe Systems Approach.
Smaller working groups addressing multimodal connectivity, complete streets, and community outreach are also meeting between the committee meetings, and now is a great time for more people to get involved.
You can attend and comment at meetings on the first Thursday of the month at 6pm at City Hall (next on September 3rd), or write to vice chair matt.glenn@seacoastbikes.org with any input.
