At our August meeting, we welcomed two new members, Kirsten Kautz and Paula Lewinski, to three-year terms on the Seacoast Area Bicycle Riders Board of Directors.
Meanwhile, the SABR board offered a ring-the-bike-bells shout-out of appreciation for two members who recently departed the board. Our outgoing vice president, Gerry Duffy, has been active as a community liaison and bicycling advocate. And Jonathan Blakeslee, also known as Mr. Coffee Outside, started that fun monthly event to connect bikers with one another at different sites around the Seacoast. He also has led and elevated our social media efforts and messaging over the past two years. Thank you both for your dedication to safe, accessible, and enjoyable biking, Gerry and Jonathan!
Also at the August meeting, Kean McDermott of Dover was elected vice president of the SABR Board. Kean has been active in the bicycling community and as a policy advocate for a number of years, and is admired for logging regular commuter miles from Dover to Portsmouth on his Brompton in all seasons. Kirsten, a Kittery resident with project management experience, has been helping to manage the Seacoast Pedal It Forward (SPIF) program and was the SABR lead for Kittery’s Kid Bicycle Rodeo in June. Paula participates in SABR events, and is a fan of our monthly Coffee Outside rides. A Portsmouth resident, she brings her grant writing expertise to aid SABR’s fundraising efforts. Paula also can provide unofficial advice on how to be sustain a happy relationship while being the second rider on a tandem. Here's the list of all members of the SABR Board of Directors >>
