International Winter Bike to Work Day takes place on the 2nd Friday in February each year, all around the globe. Let's Ride, SABR!
Most of our current Board members and some of our committee volunteers ride their bike to work year round. It's all about finding the right balance of layers, studded tires (or not) and plowed (or not) routes, right?
We invite our SABR friends to join us this Friday to celebrate International Winter Bike To Work Day by riding your bike to work or even just ride your bike to run an errand close by instead of getting in your car. The Southern NH Planning Commission is inviting you to take the "pledge to ride" here. You'll be automatically entered to win one of five prizes from REI in Bedford, NH!
On the Seacoast, we have a few activities going on this Friday to celebrate our winter commuters:
Bike to work and stop in at Flight Coffee of Dover NH to get a free coffee or tea this Friday. All day long, riders can receive a free 16oz coffee or tea at Flight Coffee ! (Located at 478 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820).
Winter Bike to Work Day Riders will receive one Hot Drip Coffee or Hot Tea (any size, excludes Barista Beverages) and 25% Off a Breakfast or Lunch Item at White Heron at 601 Islington St in Portsmouth on 2/9/24!
Join the Strava Club for local bike shop Seacoast E-Bikes and be entered in a raffle to win $100 worth of winter gear when you ride your bike and log an activity on Friday. This club is open to all bikes, not just e-bikes. Seacoast E-Bikes is located at 109 Gosling Rd in Newington, NH.
And of course, feel free to visit your local bike stores on Friday to get winter riding tips, purchase winter gear and to schedule your spring tune up :-)
